Position Summary:


The Accounting Supervisor-Regional is responsible for overseeing a team of accounting professionals. The Accounting Supervisor-Regional will monitor performance of team members in accordance with department standards. Accounting Supervisor-Regional perform fully encompassing financial reviews of Staff Accountants work on majority of properties within the teams portfolio.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversees a team of Staff Accountants. Maintains appropriate staffing and assignments in compliance with department budget. Sets annual review goals for each team member.

  • Leads training and mentoring of staff, and develops career path for individual accountants. Contribute to the global training of the accounting department as designated.

  • Responsible for entire team portfolio of multifamily rental properties; analyzing teams work to ensure revenue and expense are correctly recognized and prepared in agreement with the client requirements and the applicable accounting principles. Communicates with clients on higher level question and monitors client relations.

  • Manages cash position of entire team portfolio; calculating distributions per client requirements, committing cash to approved payables and communicating any cash deficits for funding. Will take a role in overseeing distribution process for entire ownership group as designated. Understanding escrows and monitoring cash poor properties for entire team.

  • Completes bank reconciliations and monitors team performance of bank reconciliations on a monthly basis and assists in the detection/correction of adjustments in a timely manner. Will perform review of Staff Accountant bank reconciliations where designated.

  • Contributes at high level or takes lead of department-wide goals, improvements, and initiatives. Contributes ideas to leadership team for department improvements and strengthening control processes.

  • Other job duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related area

  • Prior General Ledger Accounting Experience.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office application skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the company's policies and procedures

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers

  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience
