Position Summary
The Client Relations Specialist is often the first point of contact for our customers and plays a vital role in delivering the exceptional service that has helped DuraPlas build lasting relationships for more than 50 years. In this role, you'll partner with customers, production, shipping, and internal teams to ensure orders are accurate, delivered on time, and supported with responsive, knowledgeable service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to build a strong business foundation while learning the inner workings of a successful manufacturing company. You'll gain valuable experience working across customer service, sales, operations, logistics, and production, creating a natural career path into outside sales, operations, or other growth opportunities within our organization. If you enjoy building relationships, solving problems, and keeping many moving pieces organized, we'd love to meet you.
This position reports to the Client Relations Manager and will join a team of approximately six to eight others who are focused on client relationships and inside sales. This position will work on site Monday through Friday with an 8-hour workday within the window of 7am-5pm, with some flexibility on the exact hours.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Partnership & Service
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, responding promptly to requests for quotes, orders, changes, cancellations, and product information.
  • Build strong relationships by providing responsive, professional service and ensuring customers have a positive experience with every interaction.
  • Provide product guidance and technical assistance, or connect customers with the appropriate internal expert when needed.
2. Order Management & Fulfillment
  • Enter and process customer orders accurately and efficiently while considering inventory availability and requested delivery dates.
  • Monitor open orders from entry through shipment, proactively following up to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Research and communicate order status, inventory availability, pricing, and delivery information using company systems.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Partner closely with production, warehouse, shipping, and transportation teams to resolve issues, expedite shipments, and trace delayed deliveries.
  • Draft purchase orders for submission to the accounting department.
  • Verify customer credit status prior to order fulfillment in accordance with company policies.
4. Sales Support & Business Growth
  • Identify opportunities to increase order value by recommending complementary products and encouraging full box or pallet quantities when appropriate.
  • Help customers find the best solutions for their applications while supporting the company's sales objectives.
5. Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
  • Communicate system issues, process improvements, and customer feedback that can improve service and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teammates and provide support across the department as business needs evolve.
Education & Experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a field related to business, agriculture, supply chain and/or engineering is preferred, but not required
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in a business setting (internships can count toward this requirement)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and/or other ERP Systems and CRM systems
  • Experience interfacing with senior leadership and participating in cross-functional teams
Skills & Abilities
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen, able to effectively leverage market insights to enhance client satisfaction and drive business growth
  • Excellent communication proficiency, fostering clear understanding and positive relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • Able to maintains a steadfast customer/client focus, consistently prioritizing client needs to cultivate enduring partnerships

Compensation & Benefits
This position will be paid hourly and is eligible for overtime and includes a base rate and quarterly performance bonus tied to measurable objectives. The total on target earnings are equivalent to $60-70,000 annually; commensurate with experience.
