Job description

A growing transportation brokerage in Grapevine, TX is seeking a Customer Relationship Associate to serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships while driving retention and growth.

This role combines brokerage sales, account management, and freight operations exposure — ideal for someone who thrives on communication, follow-through, and problem-solving within the transportation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned book of transportation accounts, managing day-to-day communication and relationship health
  • Generate new freight opportunities and identify client needs, proactively recommending solutions to strengthen retention and satisfaction
  • Coordinate FTL, Dry Van, Reefer, Drayage, Intermodal, Specialized, and Over-Dimensional freight
  • Develop freight pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability
  • Coordinate with internal Carrier Development and Operations teams to resolve client issues, claims, and service disruptions quickly and accurately
  • Build and maintain strong carrier relationships
  • Track client interactions, opportunities, and account status in CRM/TMS systems
  • Support account growth through upselling, renewals, and referral development
  • Monitor transportation market trends and growth opportunities
  • Prepare and present regular account reviews and status updates

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience within a non-asset freight brokerage environment (business development, account management, or transportation sales)
  • Strong understanding of freight pricing and transportation execution
  • Knowledge of FTL, Dry Van, Reefer, Specialized Freight, Intermodal, and Over-Dimensional Freight
  • Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and CRM tools
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously
