Full-Time Associate Attorney at Astuno & Associates, APC


Position: Full-Time Associate Attorney
Location: Tacoma, WA
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: 2-4 weeks

Pay Range: $85,000-$140,000


Astuno & Associates, APC is a growing, multijurisdictional civil litigation law firm seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Attorney to join our Tacoma, WA office. We represent individuals, families, businesses, and organizations in a broad range of civil matters, with a strong focus on business, domestic relations, estate planning/trust and estates, and real estate litigation.


Our attorneys handle matters from strategy and negotiation through litigation, trial, and resolution. We value practical legal judgment, strong advocacy, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach. This is an opportunity for an attorney who enjoys taking ownership of matters, working directly with clients, and contributing to a collaborative firm where their work makes an impact.


The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative attorney who takes ownership of their matters and approaches each case with sound judgment and initiative. The role requires strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills, as well as the ability to effectively negotiate and advocate for clients. The attorney will manage cases through all stages of litigation, appear in court and other legal proceedings as needed, provide practical legal guidance, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and procedural requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court proceedings and other legal matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations related to various cases.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting litigation practices.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the law office to ensure effective case management.
  • Prepare for trials by organizing evidence and developing case strategies.


Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar Association.
  • Strong skills in legal drafting and negotiation.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
