Job Overview

To manage residential and commercial meter exchange projects for electric/gas/water utility companies across the USA and abroad. The AMI Project Manager holds responsibility for all aspects of a project including budgets, scope management, installations, warehousing, safety and training, etc. The AMI Project Manager will also be responsible for interfacing with the client's project team and managing subcontractors.

A Day In The Life

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure on-time and on-budget execution of projects, with high customer satisfaction
  • Manage the project team (Field, Warehouse, Safety/Quality Supervisors)
  • Manage subcontractors, including schedule, cost and quality
  • Act as the primary liaison with client, defining/managing/prioritizing scope and schedule
  • Write change orders, SOWs and other project documentation (as applicable)
  • Perform safety and quality audits
  • Issue management and escalation
  • Timely status reporting


 

What will help you thrive in this role?

Required:

Education: Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's Degree combined with formal Project Management training. This education requirement must be in combination with the below professional requirements.

License: California Class A Contractor's License

Professional Experience:

  • Three to seven years of project management experience with a field-based component in the utility industry (hardware installations or similar with geographic distribution)
  • Experience working in a highly independent environment
  • Experience communicating on-site with internal and external field resources and clients
  • Proven ability to effectively manage project scope, budget, and resources
  • Strong knowledge of and proven ability to utilize Microsoft Excel (intermediate to expert level) and other Microsoft Office products (Word, MS Project, Power Point, Outlook, and Visio)
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the U.S. and abroad, according to assignment(s)
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations

Preferred:

  • Experience managing AMI Meter Deployment projects with both in-house and subcontracted employees

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing, sitting, typing, speaking, walking, reaching, crouching, bending, and kneeling.
  • Moderate to extensive travel

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $150,000  per year. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
