Job description

Position Summary
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the implementation and efficient execution of project-type initiatives at the Firm, with a particular focus on those sponsored by the Finance Department and the Office of the Operating Officer. The PM will provide portfolio-level support to internal operational projects across the Firm, working with and supporting Senior Project Managers, project sponsors and owners. The PM will also play a key role in the Firm's capital budgeting process, including identifying and evaluating proposed capital projects, coordinating financial analyses and risk assessments, maintaining expenditure forecasts and budget tracking, and conducting post-completion reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Essential Functions
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with project teams; develop project plans and manage day-to-day execution to meet the Firm's and our clients' business needs.
  • Communicate project expectations, status, and risks to stakeholders through regular reporting and well-organized presentations.
  • Apply established project management methodology and enforce project standards; proactively manage scope changes, identify risks, and develop contingency plans to minimize exposure.
  • Partner with the Firm's Chiefs across CIRS, Client Services, DEI, Accounting & Finance, IT, K&I, and Talent to promote transparency, predictability, and accountability for all projects.
  • Deliver system-generated and custom reports with analytical observations; develop training and tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to advance portfolio management as a best practice.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to enhance project tracking, data analysis, forecasting accuracy, and operational efficiency across the project portfolio.
  • Support the capital budgeting process by identifying and screening proposed capital projects, collaborating with Accounting and Finance to establish budget targets and approval thresholds, and coordinating business case preparation, including NPV, IRR, and payback period analyses.
  • Facilitate risk assessments for capital projects using sensitivity analysis and scenario modeling; assist leadership in prioritizing projects based on financial merit, strategic alignment, and risk profile.
  • Develop and maintain capital expenditure forecasts, track actual expenditures against approved budgets, and regularly report variances, emerging risks, and projections to stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-completion reviews of capital projects to compare results against original business cases, document lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement of capital budgeting methodologies and governance frameworks.

Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management or in a related area with 4+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services organization or in a related area. PMP certification preferred.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Project administration and management experience beneficial. Previous experience in a partnership and professional services environment preferred.
  • Proven ability to readily comprehend business objectives and develop and execute appropriate business strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organization, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with the Internet, web-based platforms, and AI-powered tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to adopt AI and automation solutions to improve project management workflows and decision-making.
  • Strong judgment and ability to make well-reasoned independent decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong reporting skills.
  • Self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $106,335 and $137,610. In accordance with New York State's Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $96,985 and $151,910. In accordance with California's amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $100,215 and
$151,910. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $111,690 and $144,540. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $111,690 and $144,540. In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $100,215 and $129,690. In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act Transparency Notice, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $111,690 and $144,540. In accordance with Massachusetts Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act, the expected salary range for this Massachusetts position is between $117,385 and $151,910. In accordance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Minnesota position is between $100,215 and $129,690. In accordance with New Jersey Senate Bill 2310, the expected salary range for this New Jersey position is between $117,385 and $151,910. In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current scale range for this position in Cleveland, OH is $96,985 and $125,510 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
