GP Strategies Government Solutions has an opening for a US based SAP SuccessFactors Senior Project Manager capable of simultaneously managing all aspects of assigned projects, interfacing with the client, project team members, and senior management to meet both client and company expectations. The SuccessFactors Senior Project Manager is expected to manage and deliver large and small-scale IT projects on time and within budget while overseeing all phases from project planning to project closure. This opportunity is within in our Effective People division.

Role and Responsibilities:


Operational 

• Capable of wearing multiple hats simultaneously (i.e., strategic, and operational) 

• 5 or more years’ experience with PMO team management, sales support, quality control, account management, operations management, team management (10 or more), project management (3 or more simultaneously) 

• Facilitate/support Client Relationship Management shared with sales/others where applicable 

• Experienced and capable of managing Organic Growth (upsell scope, projects, support) 

• Facilitate/support Customer Satisfaction/Referenceable  

• Facilitate/support SAP/NS2 relationships, strategic relationships, internal relationships 

• Able to manage dedicated resources and shared resources across peer verticals & horizontal business units. 

• Able to lead, mentor, and support project managers overseeing the successful deployment and delivery of SAP SuccessFactors projects. 

• Ability to manage difficult high stress client escalations and negotiations.  

• Manage the team ensuring quality and cost-effective services are provided. 

• Ability to Identify and deploy process, system, execution, documentation, etc. improvements. 

• Ability to collaborate with and solicit (open to) input from senior leadership, peers, directs, external partners, and customers. 


Project Accountability 

• Serve as the single point of accountability for all aspects of their assigned project(s). 

• Direct and control all activities to align on and meet client expectations and meet budgeted financial objectives tied to the project. 

• Track all project costs to budget, project progress to schedule, and prepare cost-to-complete reports. 

• Obtain required approvals for documentation, stage gates, etc. (e.g. requirements, workbooks, testing results, etc.). 


Project Execution 

• Project Preparation: Create project plans, create kick off presentations, forecasting, resource plan, sales to delivery hand off, client engagement, etc. 

• Maintain project documentation and prepare/deliver project progress reports. 

• Conduct internal project review meetings and act as project information source. 

• Perform final review of deliverables. 

• Monitor project deliverables to ensure quality is maintained. 

• Ensure that deliverables are on time, and on/under budget. 

• Identify and mitigate project risks. 

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and project forecasts for resource planning. 

• Manage project scope and change management activities. 


Project/Client Communication 

• Manage and lead client communications. 

• Establish a trusted partner relationship with client project stakeholders. 

• Serve as the primary client interface for project schedule, budget, and scope. 

• Maintain routine communications with the management concerning all aspects of the project. 

• Support the development of proposals by providing estimates for support activities. 

• Strive to identify organic growth opportunities with the client. 


Resource Management 

• Coordinate and direct the staff assigned to the project, i.e. the project team. 

• Maintain a positive working environment with the project team. 

• Coach, counsel, and mentor project team members on project related. 

• Identify and help determine resources needed on potential projects. 


Qualifications:


Required: 

• 5+ years managing projects, including defining project scope and budget, creating project plans, managing project resources, issue resolution, and reporting status. 

• Experience managing SuccessFactors full-suite implementations. 

• Experience managing ECP payroll implementations. 

• Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet’s, etc. 

• Experience using resource and financial management tools such as Oracle, Salesforce, etc. 

• Detailed and results oriented individual who takes initiative to solve problems and overcome roadblocks in a timely manner. 

• Ability to communicate with team members and customers clearly, concisely, and confidently, both verbal and written. 

• Ability and desire to share knowledge with customers and mentor the project team. 

• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. 

• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving, fast-paced environment. 

• Ability to work closely with multiple internal and external organizations. 

• Ability to multitask while managing multiple technical projects, oversee daily project operations, and support other projects in a contributor role. 

• US Citizen 

• Able to pass background checks and public trust clearance if/when needed for assignments. 

• Ability to travel up to 25% as needed. 


Preferred: 

• Experience implementing EC for existing SAP ECC Payroll customers remaining on ECC Payroll. 

• Experience with ECC Payroll to ECP Payroll implementations. 

• Willing to remain current with SAP/SuccessFactors HCM technologies. 

• Knowledgeable in current HR policies, practices, and ability to anticipate future trends affecting the business from a systems and process perspective. 


Plus: 

• Experience configuring, implementing, and supporting one or more SAP HCM/Payroll and or SuccessFactors modules. 

• Ability to elicit and document business requirements. 

• Knowledge of technical data processing procedures, policies, and best practices.
