Job description

Our Hospice is looking for Personal Care Assistants (PCA's) in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Our PCA's will work as part of a collaborative team and will care for individuals that want to remain in their own homes and maintain as much independence as possible. This PCA position offers flexible hours with both day, night and weekend shifts to fit your schedule. This new service line provides non-medical care but will provide the highest quality of care and companionship.

Hiring for part-time or full-time positions:

- Weekends and overnight availability - must be able to work 2nd and/or 3rd shift on weekends

- Weekday availability - must be flexible to work 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts


A PCA at OHSCI Personal Care Program Will:

  • Assist the client with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and medication reminders
  • Assist with errands, housekeeping, meal plans and companionship
  • Commit to be on time for visits and complete tasks on the care plan
  • Observes and reports any unusual or changes to client to Program Manager
  • Maintain updated and efficient records on all clients in a timely manner
  • Participate in a minimum of twelve (12) hours in-service education per year

What a PCA at OHSCI Personal Care Program Needs:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Preferred but not required, Licensed Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Indiana
  • Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Automobile and Active auto insurance
  • Smart phone with plan and WiFi capability
