Job description

Symmetrio is recruiting a Senior Technical Program Manager for our client, a leader in oncology software innovation. The technical Program Manager is a proven driver who brings structure and discipline to software development by driving delivery cadence, optimizing throughput, and improving predictability while ensuring accountability to the established process.

The ideal candidate will bring strong program coordination and organizational skills, along with technical fluency to engage credibly with engineering teams. The candidate will use technical judgment to ask questions, challenge assumptions, identify risks before they impact delivery, and help keep initiatives moving forward.

Working closely with the CTO and Engineering leadership, you'll play a key role in driving a disciplined, predictable software development process.

This is a full-time position with a base salary up to $180,000.

Requirements

  • Drive end-to-end software program delivery, ensuring successful execution against committed milestones, including validation readiness, feature readiness, and preparation for the first customer go-live.
  • Establish and drive the software delivery operating rhythm, including sprint cadence, delivery metrics, velocity tracking, scope management, and release processes to improve execution, transparency, and predictability.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage program risks and issues, driving timely resolution, removing obstacles, and escalating with clear context, impact, and recommended actions when needed.
  • Partner with Engineering, QA, Product, Infrastructure, and leadership teams to create alignment around scope, priorities, and milestones, fostering ownership and ensuring predictable execution against agreed delivery commitments.
  • Drive delivery discipline across software initiatives by helping teams stay focused on committed priorities, removing execution friction, and enabling predictable delivery that supports customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Establish a data-driven approach to program reporting by defining meaningful delivery metrics, providing transparent status visibility, and communicating progress, risks, and forecasts with the rigor and clarity required for executive and board-level discussions.

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • 401k Retirement Plan (4% match)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience managing software delivery for complex, multi-team products, with a demonstrated ability to drive execution across large-scale initiatives.
  • Proven track record delivering enterprise software solutions, including customer go-lives, complex implementations, and environments requiring high levels of quality, reliability, and operational discipline.
  • Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum execution at scale, including the ability to leverage delivery metrics such as velocity, throughput, cycle time, and work-in-progress (WIP) to improve predictability and execution.
  • Strong fluency in delivery analytics and program management tools (e.g., Jira), with the ability to develop data-driven forecasts, assess delivery health, and provide insights.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills, with the ability to present objective, evidence-based updates, articulate risks and trade-offs, and confidently defend delivery forecasts with senior leadership.
  • Experience working in healthcare IT or other regulated industries strongly preferred, with an understanding of environments where quality, compliance, validation, and operational reliability are critical.
