Position Overview - Bowersock Capital Partners is seeking a Portfolio Manager & Trader who shares that intellectual rigor, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, and who is ready to take ownership of portfolio implementation while playing a meaningful role in investment decision-making across client portfolios. This role combines daily trading, measured discretion, investment diligence, and platform oversight across traditional and alternative investments. You will report to and work directly with our CEO and Founding Partner, offering meaningful influence on portfolio construction and manager selection within a collaborative investment process.


Your Role & Responsibilities


Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Portfolio Management & Trading

Execute trades across client portfolios, including ETFs, mutual funds, equities, and alternatives

Manage rebalancing, cash flows, and tax-aware implementation

Exercise discretion within defined portfolio guidelines

Monitor markets and adjust positioning within established frameworks


Investment Research & Diligence

Conduct due diligence on mutual funds, ETFs, third-party managers, structured investments, and individual stocks

Document due diligence and select individual securities, as applicable

Lead sourcing and evaluating alternative investments

Develop investment recommendations, including supporting analysis, portfolio fit, and risk considerations

Maintain and evolve the firm's approved investment list


Platform & Manager Integration

Serve as primary investment liaison with external fund managers and GPs

Serve as primary investment liaison with 55ip for direct indexing and tax-aware platform needs

Serve as primary investment liaison with Vestmark for UMA and managed accounts platform needs

Collaborate with investment teams and specialists at partner firms

Oversee implementation and monitoring of portfolios across platforms

Ensure consistency between portfolio strategy and execution


Portfolio Construction Support

Collaborate on asset allocation and portfolio design

Provide input on tactical positioning and risk management

Contribute to ongoing refinement of the firm's investment process

Run monthly investment and strategy meeting


Decision-Making & Influence

Operate with measured discretion in day-to-day portfolio implementation and trading

Play a central role in evaluating and recommending investment opportunities

Contribute meaningfully to investment decisions, including alternative investments

Collaborate with firm leadership on final investment decisions, particularly for new investment vehicles and strategic allocation

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in portfolio management, trading, or multi-asset investing

Undergraduate degree required

Series 7 and 65, or 63 and 66, required

Familiarity or experience with various industry custodians and proprietary trading tools, including Pershing LLC, Pershing PAS, Schwab, Fidelity, and Goldman Sachs

Familiarity or experience with Turnkey Asset Management Platforms (TAMP) and/or equivalent FinTech solutions and technology

Demonstrated experience executing trades across diversified portfolios, conducting fund or manager diligence, and communicating with clients and third-party managers

Strong understanding of tax-aware investing, multi-asset portfolio construction, and wealth management portfolio dynamics

Comfortable operating with accountability, influence, and collaboration

Process-driven, disciplined decision-maker


Preferred Qualifications

CIMA or CFA designation a plus but not required
