What you'll be doing

CIBC's Digital Asset team is focused on building and scaling enterprise capabilities that support the future of digital finance. As an Executive Director, Digital Asset Platforms, you'll work closely with the Managing Director to turn CIBC's digital asset vision into executable programs and measurable outcomes. You'll lead end-to-end delivery across key streams including custody, trading, settlement, tokenization, payments, and wealth management, while driving alignment across strategy, governance, and execution. You'll build strong partnerships across Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance to move complex initiatives forward with pace and discipline. You'll also lead key client, partner, and vendor relationships, helping shape institutional-grade solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned with regulatory requirements. In this senior leadership role, you'll be accountable for execution quality, team performance, and delivering meaningful progress across CIBC's digital asset platform.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $180,000.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this roleincludes participation in an annual discretionary incentive orbonus program.

How you'll succeed

  • Strategy execution - Partner with the Digital Assets Steering Committee and senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into clear roadmaps, operating plans, and delivery frameworks. Provide structured updates to executive leadership on progress, risks, decisions, and opportunities.

  • Program delivery - Lead the end-to-end delivery of digital asset initiatives across custody, trading, settlement, tokenization, payments, and wealth management. Establish governance, delivery cadences, and escalation protocols to keep workstreams on track and aligned to timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.

  • Cross-functional leadership - Drive accountability across teams in Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance by resolving dependencies, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum across complex initiatives.

  • Business growth and partnerships - Support institutional client acquisition and relationship management, and lead the evaluation and onboarding of vendors and strategic partners. Contribute to go-to-market strategies for new digital asset products and services in line with CIBC's strategic direction.

  • Regulatory and risk oversight - Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk partners to support regulatory engagement and maintain strong oversight across digital asset activities. Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape, surface implications to senior leadership, and help ensure issues and risks are identified, tracked, and addressed promptly.

  • People leadership - Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, supporting talent planning, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.

Who you are

  • You bring strong business and technical credibility. You hold an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is an asset.

  • You have 10+ years of progressive experience. In capital markets, fintech, banking, or technology, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or program delivery role.

  • You have demonstrated expertise. In digital assets, blockchain technology, and the institutional financial services landscape.

  • You turn strategy into action. You have a proven track record of leading complex, multi-stream programs and translating strategic priorities into scalable execution plans and business outcomes.

  • You're an influential communicator. You can build trust with senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and operate effectively as a trusted partner to executive leadership.
