Description
Position Overview
Edge Plastics is seeking an experienced, analytical Production Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, tracking, and optimizing production schedules to guarantee on-time shipping and delivery.
The ideal candidate thrives on using data analytics to solve complex problems, forecast trends, and streamline operations. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support to both the Production department and overall company operations.
This position enjoys a competitive annual salary starting at $72,000 per year, annual performance incentive bonus, paid time off, paid sick time, full array of group health insurance products including medical, dental, vision benefits and voluntary supplemental plans. Reporting & Analytics
  • Generate, maintain and review daily operational reports -including forecasts, shift output, open orders and EDI data.
  • Responsible for reviewing and tracking production goals on daily and monthly basis. Adjust production strategies as needed.
  • Partners with Plant Manager and Sales on open orders and sample orders to coordinate mold changes and manpower.
  • Escalates scheduling, mold and manpower concerns to Plant Manager, COO and owner.

Scheduling & Production
  • Create and update daily production schedules.
    • Prioritize orders based on shipping deadlines and mold availability.
    • Schedule manpower assignments by press and communicate to Operations team.
  • Review client orders for accuracy, forecast production scheduling.
  • Evaluate and track on-hand inventory to ensure accurate production needs.
  • Collaborate with Molding and Processing Manager on scheduled mold changes, mold repair and performance.
  • Communicates daily with Operations leadership team on schedule changes and daily manpower.
  • Ensures on-time production to support on-time shipping on all orders.

Purchasing & Inventory
  • Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs), GSI items, and inventory setups within ERP system.
  • Responsible for inventory control for molded parts.
  • Place non-EDI purchase orders
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with general support tasks.

Education Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred in fields such as:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Business Administration
    • Operations Management
  • High school diploma or GED with hands-on manufacturing or administrative experience.
  • Certifications: Optional certifications (such as APICS/ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory Management - CPIM).

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Technical & Software Proficiency:
    • Strong command of ERP/MRP software (prefer IQMS).
    • Advanced data analysis skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, reporting).
    • Strong mathematical skills with ability to analyze trends.
  • Organizational & Time Management:
    • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous schedules, balance changing priorities, and hit strict deadlines.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate smoothly between Sales, Operations and executive leadership.
  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability:
    • Quick thinking to pivot schedules when machinery breaks down, material shipments are delayed, or orders change unexpectedly.
    • Ability to adapt and work flexible hours, handle phone calls during off hours (nights/weekends/holidays).
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Meticulous accuracy when reviewing client orders, managing bills of materials (BOMs), and compiling shift or inventory reports.
  • Workplace Expectations:
    • Must be able to report to the brick-and-mortar location daily.
      • Must be able to physically walk through plant and outlying distribution centers.
    • Must be able to sit at a desk/working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to speak/hold conversations for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds if needed.
