Job description

Agape Child & Family Services is currently seeking dedicated interns to support our mission of strengthening children and families through Christ-centered community engagement. As a poverty-reduction initiative, Agape, through its place-based strategy, Powerlines Community Network (PCN), implements a Two-Generation (2Gen)/whole family paradigm. This internship provides hands-on experience in social services, nonprofit operations, and community outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with case management, client support, and program coordination
  • Conduct research, data collection, and analysis to improve program effectiveness
  • Support event planning, workshops, and outreach initiatives
  • Collaborate with staff on administrative tasks and community engagement projects
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with Agape staff.
  • Serve as an advocate for Agape Child & Family Services and the communities we serve.

As an Intern with Agape, you will:

  • Gain valuable real-world experience in the nonprofit and social services sectors
  • Network with professionals in the field and receive mentorship
  • Work a flexible schedule based on availability and program needs
  • Potentially receive academic credit, depending on university requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Some walking and standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

Interns must be currently enrolled in or have recently completed a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nonprofit Management, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university. The ideal Intern must have a passion for serving children and families in need, strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and proven ability as a problem solver and self-starter. Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills. The Inten candidate must have an automobile available for business use and maintain a current driver's license and current auto insurance with acceptable coverage levels. Will be required to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed. Candidate must be willing to engage in Agape's Performance Quality and Improvement (also known as Continuous Quality Improvement) standards of quality & excellence.
