Position Summary: The Senior Client Relationship Banker is a trusted financial solutions provider for consumer and business clients, offering personalized service, customized banking solutions, offering products, services and consumer lending options. This role builds and maintains meaningful client relationships and provides hands-on support to bankers, ensuring clients receive efficient and accurate client service that meets their individual banking needs.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Leadership: Supports our team of retail bankers, providing guidance, resources, coaching, and hands-on client service support to champion the team’s success and ensure a client-centric work culture that ensures a high standard of service delivery, overall client experience, and a positive work environment. Adheres to regulatory compliance standards in branch operations. Leading by example, participates with impactful community involvement to maintain a meaningful and positive Unity Bank presence and reputation.
  • Client Experience: Deepen client relationships through knowledgeable, confident, consultative conversations that identify client needs. Provide advised solutions for our consumer and business clients and partner with other internal departments as needed. Promote and cross-sell a full range of banking products and services, including consumer and business deposits, fiduciary accounts, consumer non-real estate loans, credit cards, IRA’s, H S A’s, all other ancillary services. Partners with cross departmental resources to service client options such as Cash Management, Wealth Management, Commercial/Ag/Business Lending. Support teller operations as needed by processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently. Support cross-departmental initiatives and take ownership of relationship-focused goals and projects. 
  • Community Involvement: Build and maintain community relationships and represent the Bank by participating in and leading community events that enhance the Bank’s presence and promote community engagement. Support local communities by participating and sharing opportunities to support community needs through volunteer activities, sponsorship, etc.
  • Training and Development: Seek learnings and continuous development to enhance product knowledge, deposit related controls, compliance requirements, communication skills, and banking products/services that create banker confidence to enhance client experience. 
  • Compliance: Assist with branch controls and audit requirements to ensure timely and accurate completion as needed. Accurately manage financial documents completing file maintenance exceptions in a timely manner. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, privacy policies, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures. 
  • Deposit Generation: Deepen client relationships through self-initiated client service and support coaching of retail staff in meaningful conversations focused on learning the needs and goals of our clients, making recommendations, and continuing follow up conversations to strengthen full banking relationships. Work with community organizations, businesses, school partnerships to build further deposit relationships. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product development, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of client operations with overall organizational goals to improve the client experience. 

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent working experience preferred
  2. Two to Four (2-4)years of retail banking experience required. 
  3. Consumer non-real-estate lending experience preferred. 
  4. Previous leadership experience preferred.

Work Environment: Collaborative, trust-based, transparent, supportive, and comfortable community atmosphere. This position includes periodic travel across our footprint, working with clients, community members, and our Unity Team.

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

Regulatory Standards: Financial Institutions must adopt and comply with regulatory requirements. All employees of Unity Bank are required to comply with these standards and practices.  Employees will be responsible for participation in training sessions for these regulatory compliance requirements. This will be offered through online sessions, department meetings, bank wide training, and other such media.  In addition, compliance training that is specific to job responsibilities will be conducted.  Any employee that knowingly fails to comply with the requirements, as outlined in the Compliance Manual and the related guidelines may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
