About the Role

Weโ€™re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Operations Associate to join our team. The Investment Operations Associate will be responsible for managing SMA order workflows across the firm, including long/short strategies, ensuring accurate and timely execution. In addition to SMA responsibilities, this role provides secondary support for Alternative Investment order processing, helping maintain smooth operational coverage across hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and other alternative vehicles. This role is central to ensuring that client investment instructions are executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with internal controls and industry regulations. Youโ€™ll collaborate closely with advisor teams, custodians and keep our SMA & Alternative Investment workflows running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities โ€“ SMA Order Management

  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal teams regarding Operations and order workflow
  • Process and monitor SMA orders, including long/short strategies, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
  • Ensure each SMA account is fully and accurately configured with the appropriate features and restrictions, including portfolio margin, options trading permissions, and other strategy-specific settings.
  • Reconcile trades, resolve exceptions, and maintain accurate records
  • Support ongoing improvements to SMA workflows and operational controls

Secondary Responsibilities โ€“ Alternative Investments & Structured Notes

  • Provide backup support for Alternative Investment order processing, including subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, and distributions
  • Assist with documentation review, custodian coordination, and internal approvals
  • Maintain data integrity across internal systems for alternative holdings
  • Support periodic reporting and audit requests related to Alternatives
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum [2] years of experience in client service, operations, or a similar role within the financial services industry, with a focus on separately managed accounts (long/short), alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds, real estate, etc.) and/or structured products.
  • Experience with AQR (SMA), CAIS, iCapital and Crystal Capital is a significant advantage.
  • Proficient in investment research tools and CRM software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centric approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications (Preferred, but not required):

  • Series 65, or other relevant financial industry certifications, are a plus but not required.
