As a CNA, you will be responsible for various personal care and incidental activities through supportive professional services to meet the needs of patients in accomplishing activities of daily living. Duties involve personal grooming, oral care, personal hygiene, providing nourishment, taking and recording vital signs, etc. Reports any patient changes to the assigned nurse.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assists, performs, and trains patients/residents in activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and elimination, and nutritional intake.
  • Promotes safe and clean interior/exterior physical environment and maintains unobstructed pathways while providing care.
  • Assists with ambulation, transfers, and/or range of motion exercises.
  • Assists with activities of daily living such as, light meal preparation, socialization activities, and light homemaking chores related to direct patient care..
  • Utilizes infection control measures such as hand washing, standard precautions, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Organizes self to carry out various visits, shifts, and/or tasks.
  • Accompanies residents to/from appointments as requested and assigned.
  • Reports any concerns or changes in the client’s condition and needs to the Nursing Supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.

Work Schedule: Work schedule normally coincides with one of three standard nursing shifts to allow coverage for a 24/7 operation.  Exact duty hours are established by the Director of Nursing, and the Administrator and employees are advised of their schedules in advance.

Certifications/Qualifications:

  • Required: Currently certified and registered with the Texas Nurse Aide Registry 
  • Required: possess current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification 
  • Required: Valid Texas driver’s license with proof of insurance 
  • Preferred: Current AED certification 
  • Preferred: Prior experience working with geriatric and/or hospice patients
