Project Manager-Customer Implementation
Locations: Reading PA, Beachwood OH, Dearborn MI, Duluth GA, or Irving TX.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am- 5pm (Onsite 4 days a week)
Position Summary:
Manage end-to-end new customer implementations, enterprise and strategic projects. To organize teams and ensure assignments are being completed and report out on the progress. To manage and create content, which includes documentation of projects. Using project management tools to validate effectiveness of projects.
What you will be doing:
As a Penske Project Manager you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on the most strategic and / or largest projects in the company that have a significant technology component. You will manage all project activity, budget and resources to ensure the program remains on schedule, within budget, project regular project updates and deployment of all required activity
Responsibilities:
  1. Manage multiple projects simultaneously that involve multiple cross-functional teams.
  2. Develop and maintain a project plan, which may include the project requirements, technical solution, resource plan, work plan, and estimated project duration/effort.
  3. Monitor all project activity, budget and resources to ensure the project remains on schedule, within budget, and that no rework is required.
  4. Effectively communicate the project status, roles, scope changes, issues and risks to all project participants.
  5. Understand, support and apply standard project management tools as applicable.
  6. Analyze and prioritize project activities and project needs in order to establish realistic deadlines.
  7. Develop an understanding of the customer needs and the business and project objectives.
  8. Identify process improvement opportunities that will eliminate rework of processes and introduce better control inputs and changes.
  9. Understand, support, apply, and maintain the Penske Project Management Methodology, documentation and tools.
  10. Full life cycle project management (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing) to support waterfall and agile development projects.
  11. Project Planning duties include discovery and framing of solutions, gathering requirements, and business case and charter development through understanding internal and external customer needs.
  12. Working directly with all cross functional teams and Business process owners to define the specific project requirements and deliverables.
  13. Development and management of work breakdown structure along with key milestone measurements and baseline delivery timelines. Efficiently planning for and prioritizing needed resources based on deliverable dates, scope, and goals
  14. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path deliverables.
  15. Effectively communicate the program status, scope changes, issues and risks to leadership.
  16. Responsible for the development of the entire set of project resources.
  17. Facilitate project working sessions, project update meetings and steering committee report outs
  18. Follow up on project related issues with responsible resources all the way through to resolution and hold all project related resources accountable to agreed upon deliverables.
  19. Monitoring risks and scope creep on each project to preemptively address potential issues
  20. Manage all project communications, ensuring effective exchange of project information and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for ongoing project status report outs, and project measurement systems.
  21. Set up & maintain the use of appropriate tools for project management documentation for effective tracking and facilitate sharing of project information.
  22. Effectively close projects down upon completion of final deployment and post deployment support.
  23. Complete project after action reviews to identify process improvement opportunities
  24. Work with leadership to ensure project alignment to approved projects; Appropriately set and managing expectations through clear communication; Identify, analyze, and communicate project risks; Manage the expectation of stakeholders across the project; Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes; Delegate task and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  25. Provide training and mentor business associates on the Penske project management methodology and tools.
  26. Prepare presentations, project documentation and reports to various partners.
  27. Identify new project methodologies and implement approved project management tools
  28. Identification of process improvement opportunities and follow through using tools like lean process improvements.
  29. Provide ad hoc analysis to support portfolio/project KPI's, metrics and finding.

Qualifications
Penske Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in business management, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
-At least 3 years of proven project management experience involving supporting implementations, process improvement initiatives and being a lead on an initiative or project
-Project Management Certification or formal project management training preferred, required to attain if hired
-Strong Computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access are required
-Thorough understanding of project management lifecycle.
-Able to navigate challenging situations, with the guidance of Director.
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
