This position is responsible for leading retail construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


The Project Manager works closely with field superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and owners to coordinate project activities, manage budgets and schedules, and maintain clear communication throughout the life of the project. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively solve problems in a fast-paced construction environment.

What You'll Do

  • Manage assigned construction projects from planning to closeout.
  • Partner with field superintendent to ensure project schedules, milestones, and objectives are achieved.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasting financial performance and job costs.
  • Execute timely project buyouts and prepare subcontracts and change orders.
  • Support field operations to manage risk and ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, customers, facilities, equipment, and the public.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all contract documents, including plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including sequencing, milestone tracking, and monthly updates.
  • Review 3-week schedules with the superintendent and align them with the overall project schedule.
  • Procure long lead-time items and coordinates the timely submission and review of submittals and shop drawings.
  • Review shop drawings for accuracy and compliance with contract documents.
  • Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) including documentation of cost impacts and resolution communication.
  • Represent the company at Project progress meetings and lead meetings when required.
  • Maintain meeting minutes, change order logs and shop drawing tracking logs.
  • Conduct site visits to verify work progress and ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications.
  • Oversee project close out activities, including punch lists, final payments, and submission of operations manuals and warranties.
  • Conduct internal pre-punch inspections prior to architect review.
  • Coordinate quality control efforts and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  • Serve as a resource for technical research and project-related questions.
  • Review weekly labor productivity with the superintendent.
  • Prepare and submit monthly pay applications to owners/architects.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier pay applications.
  • Partner with the project coordinator to ensure strong administrative and operational support.
  • Complete jobsite project management inspection reports in Procore.
  • Manage warranty claims and resolution process.
  • Prepare project bids and budget estimates, including estimates for self-performed work.
  • Develop bid scopes for construction management and negotiated projects.
  • Conduct constructability reviews of design documents during preconstruction phases.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.



What We're Looking For


Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent industry experience required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment if not already held.
  • Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience with a focus on project management.
  • Valid driver's license is required.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of field construction practices, scheduling, building codes, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera P6, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, and Excel) required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction and strong financial acumen, including understanding project budgets and profitability.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and navigate construction plans and documentation.
