Job description

Account Director (Client Growth and Agency Leadership)

About the Role

DEPLOY's client is looking for an Account Director who knows how to run a book of business, grow it, and show up as a collaborative force on new business.

DEPLOY's client's approach is grounded in behavioral science and Creative Psychology - a genuine differentiator that shapes how we think about strategy, creative, and client outcomes. This role plays a key part in translating that thinking into growth for our clients and our agency.

You will own your portfolio day to day while working alongside an Account Supervisor and Account Coordinator, and reporting directly to the SVP of Account Leadership.

If you are someone who wants to lead accounts, grow relationships, and help shape the culture and trajectory of a growing agency, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

Client Leadership and Retention - Serve as the primary point of contact and strategic lead for an assigned portfolio of clients

Build trust and deepen relationships by demonstrating a strong understanding of each client's business, goals, and challenges

Proactively identify opportunities to expand scope, evolve strategy, and add value - before clients ask

Lead client meetings, presentations, and check-ins with confidence and clarity

Ensure flawless project delivery by working closely with your account team and cross-functional partners Account Growth

Develop and execute organic growth strategies across your portfolio

Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities aligned to the client business objectives

Track account health and flag risks early, turning challenges into opportunities for deeper partnership

New Business Support

Pitch in on new business efforts - from RFP responses and research to live presentations

Bring your client experience to bear when crafting agency positioning and pitchstrategy

Represent DEPLOY's client with credibility and enthusiasm to prospective clients

Team and Agency Building

Work alongside an Account Supervisor and Account Coordinator, providing direction and mentorship

Contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture - you model what great account leadership looks like

Engage in agency initiatives, internal conversations, and process improvements that help DEPLOY's client grow

What We're Looking For

5-8 years of agency experience, with at least 4 years in an account leadership role

A proven track record of growing client relationships and expanding account revenue

Experience working across integrated campaigns - spanning brand, creative, digital, and/or media

Strong presentation and communication skills - you can hold a room and translate complex ideas simply

Vertical experience in one or more of the following: healthcare/insurance, financial services, or CPG/retail

A collaborative instinct - you build real relationships across disciplines, not just manage up

High accountability and low ego - you care about the work and the people doing it

Comfort operating in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment where the playbook is still being written

Bonus: Experience with behavioral science, consumer psychology, or research- backed creative strategy

Work Style

Birmingham, AL-based preferred; hybrid schedule

Reports to SVP, Account Leadership

Travel for client engagements and new business pitches, as needed

What Success Looks Like

Client portfolios are growing - in scope, revenue, and relationship depth

Clients feel strategically led, not just serviced

New business efforts are stronger because of your involvement

The team around you is developing and performing at a higher level

DEPLOY's client becomes a better agency because you are part of building it
