Client Relations Consultant I

Primary Purpose: The Client Relations Consultant I is responsible for managing and retaining assigned employer group clients through proactive servicing, renewal planning, and solution-based support. This role serves as a trusted advisor to employer groups and brokers by providing consultative guidance, explaining renewal outcomes and plan performance, and helping clients navigate benefit and coverage decisions while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned employer groups and broker partners
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive support and communication
  • Lead renewal discussions and explain premium changes, utilization trends, and plan performance
  • Partner with Underwriting to review and communicate renewal data and cost drivers
  • Recommend plan options and solutions that align with client needs and business goals
  • Resolve escalated client and broker concerns through cross-functional collaboration
  • Coordinate onboarding and account changes for employer groups
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Salesforce and internal systems
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ACA, and company policies
  • Participate in open enrollment meetings, presentations, and departmental initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of customer service, account management, client relations, or sales experience
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, account management, or employer group servicing
  • Experience presenting to clients or leading consultative discussions
  • Knowledge of healthcare benefits, renewals, and underwriting concepts

Working Conditions:

  • Requires on-site and virtual meetings at broker and/or client offices
  • Requires travel by airplane to neighboring islands and by automobile
