Job description

Professional Summary

The Contract Administration Specialist is responsible for the creation, review, maintenance, and administration of contract documentation for Group Life and Disability insurance products. This role supports both new business implementation and ongoing policy administration by preparing contracts, certificates, administrative agreements, amendments, and related documentation while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and highly organized, with strong analytical skills, advanced document creation capabilities, and the ability to leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and document quality. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain service level expectations, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, revise, and maintain contracts, certificates, administrative agreements, amendments, and other policy-related documentation for Group Life and Disability products.
  • Prepare documentation required for new business implementation, policy issuance, renewals, revisions, and in-force policy changes.
  • Review contract documentation for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
  • Analyze policy information, supporting documentation, and data within policy administration systems to ensure proper setup and administration.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies, missing information, and documentation issues by collaborating with internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Manage daily workload and competing priorities to ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately and within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Communicate effectively with internal partners regarding document status, workload updates, policy changes, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Group Life and Disability products, underwriting processes, policy issuance procedures, renewals, amendments, and administrative guidelines.
  • Perform quality reviews of completed documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established processes.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools and technology solutions to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance document quality.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support initiatives that increase operational efficiency and service excellence.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in insurance operations, contract administration, policy administration, or document management preferred.
  • Experience supporting Group Life and Disability insurance products strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance contracts, certificates, amendments, administrative agreements, and policy documentation preferred.
  • Familiarity with PASR, ESL, or similar policy administration systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, analyze, and interpret complex documentation and policy information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and other document management applications.
  • Experience using AI-powered productivity tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and document quality preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and service level expectations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex insurance products, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in a quality-focused, process-driven environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Paso, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
