Delta Dental of Illinois is seeking a relationship-driven Account Manager to be responsible for providing professional, knowledgeable service and ultimately the profitable retention of an assigned book of business.ย  This position requires heavy interaction with external clients daily.ย  Negotiation of contracts and renewals is a critical function of this job. Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize retention of assigned accounts by using independent professional judgment to provide proactive service to groups.
  • Effectively negotiate group contracts to ensure continued profitability.
  • Meet or exceed annual cross-sell quota.
  • Identify and maximize growth potential for group accounts.
  • Consult with management on client servicing needs, concerns and development of action plans.
  • Consult with client/broker to develop a course of action to achieve clientsโ€™ long-term goals and coordinate activities to ensure action steps are executed.
  • Coordinate activities with Sales Executive and implementation team to ensure the smooth transition of new business.
  • Act as day-to-day liaison with benefits managers and consultants/brokers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience implementing and servicing group accounts, preferably in the dental or medical benefits industry
  • Current Illinois Insurance Producerโ€™s license, or the ability to obtain one within a defined period after hire
  • Strong analytical, organizational and negotiating skills; ability to promote and facilitate team effort
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Knowledge of dental benefits, insurance operations, and client account management practices is preferred
