Hours: 24hrs 

Shift: Day shift, 9:00am - 3:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation  

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Position Reports to the Emergency Department Team Leader or designee. Perform variety of clerical duties including but not limited to: conduct patient interviews, provide clerical support, patient registration, data/order entry, and transcription of orders, collation of medical records and other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Equal to completion of four years of high school plus specialized courses and training.
  • Completion and passing of the Medical Terminology course is required.
  • Computer skills including knowledge of the Meditech computer system and related secretarial experience are preferred.
  • A minimum of one year related work experience is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
