About This Role
Greenlink Energy Solutions is seeking an In-House Counsel to support the companys growing commercial operations and strategic initiatives.
This role will serve as a trusted legal advisor to leadership, helping guide contract development, regulatory compliance, risk management, and business operations. The position will work across multiple functionsincluding development, operations, finance, and partnershipsto ensure Greenlinks projects and programs are structured effectively and executed in accordance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.
This is an opportunity for a legally minded professional who is excited to work in a fast-growing clean energy company and help build the legal and compliance foundation that supports long-term growth.
What Youll Do
Contract & Commercial Legal Support
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, subcontractor agreements, and partnership arrangements
  • Provide legal guidance on contract structure, risk allocation, and commercial terms
  • Support the development of standardized contract templates and internal legal processes
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Interpret applicable regulations, policies, and program requirements affecting energy, construction, and public funding initiatives
  • Help ensure company operations remain compliant with state, federal, and industry regulations
  • Assist leadership in identifying and mitigating legal and operational risks
Grant & Program Oversight
  • Provide legal oversight and compliance support for public funding programs, including a state-funded Illinois DCEO grant initiative
  • Ensure contractual, reporting, and audit requirements are met throughout the lifecycle of funded programs
  • Support communication with state agencies and program partners when needed
Internal Advisory & Cross-Functional Support
  • Act as a legal resource for leadership and internal teams on business, contractual, and operational matters
  • Support policy development and internal governance processes
  • Help build scalable legal and compliance frameworks as the company grows
What Youll Bring
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and an active license to practice law (or ability to obtain Illinois licensure)
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory, or public-sector legal work
  • Strong experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and agreements
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business guidance
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, or environmental law
  • Familiarity with public funding programs, government contracts, or grant compliance
