JOB OVERVIEW

The Cleaner plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy facility. This position is responsible for daily cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces, servicing restrooms, and emptying trash and recycling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Empty all trash and recycling bins, replace liners as needed, and ensure receptacles are clean.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, work areas, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors following the assigned cleaning route.
  • Inspect areas for items of value and place anything found on the nearest table or desk.
  • Report any mechanical or electrical issues (locks, doorknobs, light bulbs, fixtures, etc.) to the supervisor.
  • Report any items that are broken or damaged after or during your shift.
  • Move cleaning carts and equipment safely from one area to another and follow the designated cleaning sequence.
  • Vacuum and mop elevator lobbies, hallways, and other common areas as assigned.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good working order.
  • Follow all safety and company procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Cleaner or Janitor preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform general cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting.
  • Ability to maintain clean, organized, and sanitary restrooms.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow routines, instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Professional and neat appearance required.
