Samtec is seeking a Process Integration Engineer to join our Optoelectronics team in Colorado Springs, CO.
The Process Integration Engineer is responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes are properly developed and documented while maintaining change traceability to support efficient production and align with business objectives. 
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain process integrity after release through effective change management practices. 
  • Act as the gatekeeper for completeness and accuracy of process documentation package for first-time builds of custom product. 
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the release review of new products. 
  • Lead the transfer of released products to other manufacturing sites. 
  • Provide feedback on new process related defects. 
  • Coordinate with development teams and ensure compatibility with existing processes, equipment, documentation, and materials. 
  • Support or lead projects involving new tooling, automation, or process improvements, including test planning, validation, and documentation. 
  • Develop and maintain critical documentation such as test plans, qualification protocols, control plans, PFMEAs, and standard operation procedures. 
  • Provide technical support during integration phases, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure smooth transitions and minimal production disruption. 
  • Work closely with process, product, tooling, test, and quality engineers, as well as production managers, to align integration efforts with business needs.

Required Experience: 
  • 5+ years' experience in process engineering 
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems and process engineering. 
  • Ability to support multiple projects and collaborate across departments. 
  • Proficiency in documentation, validation, and quality assurance practices. 
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills. 
Preferred Experience:  
  • 5+ years' experience related to optoelectronics packaging. 
  • Experience creating and maintaining control plans and PFMEA documentation 
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations. 
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. 
Work Environment:  
  • This role will require regular work in a clean room environment. 
Education: 
  • B.S. in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. 
Training required: 
  • On the job training as appropriate.
Salary and benefit offerings: 
The salary range for this position would be in the range of $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year and is commensurate with experience + plus generous Samtec bonuses paid three times per year in February, August and late fall.
