Job description

Hospital Central Services, Inc. & Affiliates (HCS), a linen rental service, has been dedicated to providing its partners with innovative healthcare solutions.

The Linen Transporter is responsible for storing and distributing linen for hospital facility. The transporter conducts themselves in a courteous and professional manner at all time, and complies with all HCS and hospital policies. The anticipated salary starts at $16.00 per hour. What you will be doing:

  • Clean linen distribution: Pack clean linen orders into carts for distribution. Distribute filled linen carts to appropriate areas within the facility and completely par stock the assigned patient care units/ancillary areas as required.
  • Soiled linen pickup: Retrieve soiled linen carts from facility areas to soil room/return empty soil carts to areas.
  • Record Keeping: Record information accurately on all paperwork and input data into tracking program.
  • Linen room maintenance: Store clean linen on shelves, after verifying numbers and types of items; keeps linen room in clean and orderly condition

What you will bring to the role:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent ability to understand and use software relevant to the position

Additional information:

  • Hours need to flexible to cover either 5:00am - 1:30pm or 4:30am - 1:00pm, rotation for every other weekend and some holidays
  • Work is within a healthcare facility and some flexibility for scheduling is needed to provide services to the hospital
  • Position is located at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ
