Job description

Summary:
Manage department technicians and engineers, plan and coordinate capital projects for the
site, develop engineering efforts to ensure proper installation of equipment and
processes, and oversee the development of in-house tooling for customer packaging needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the capital management process, including capital project development, approval, implementation, and tracking.
  • Manages large projects, including facilities improvements, expansions, and new business-related activities.
  • Develops and utilizes capacity planning tools to develop improvement and/or new capacity plans that address any operational constraints.
  • Designs and deploys plans to improve the manufacturing processes and methods that support cost-savings, quality improvements and effectiveness of equipment.
  • Responsible for providing cost and timing estimates relating to new projects and product tooling.
  • Supports Manufacturing and Packaging operations with the installation of machinery to improve Labor Efficiency and Safety.
  • Manages budgets for operation of Machine Shop and Technical Support departments. Develops for department yearly budget.
  • Responsible for the general supervision of personnel in department, including the administration of merit review and job classification policies, and assisting subordinates in solving work problems.
  • Supports production and technical managers to help improve and/or maintain the level of quality of production.
  • Evaluate achievement of standards of performance as called upon for Engineering employees.
  • Develops reliability maintenance methods and strategies that ensure integration with Operations and optimizes the performance of equipment.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service in meeting operational, safety, GMP, and customer needs.
  • Interfaces directly with customers on technical projects, issues, and problem resolution
  • Works closely with Health, Safety & Environmental to ensure process and equipment meet safety & environmental standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a management / leadership position preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience working in an OTC manufacturing industry
  • Experience in a GMP environment.
