As a Loss Prevention / Security Officer at Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests, colleagues, and property. This is a dynamic role that requires vigilance, strong problem-solving skills, and a professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence in high-traffic areas, monitoring guest activities and ensuring safety.
  • Conduct regular foot patrols of the property, inspecting for any safety hazards or unusual activities.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and disturbances, acting as a First Responder when needed.
  • Investigate and document security incidents, accidents, and suspicious behavior through detailed written reports.
  • Enforce property rules, including trespassing laws, and manage potentially disruptive situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Assist with lost and found inquiries, ensuring accurate documentation and retrieval processes.
  • Provide assistance and direction to guests and colleagues in need, demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services when required.
  • Monitor security camera footage and alarm systems, identifying potential risks or breaches.
  • Support other departments in ensuring safety during events, conferences, or peak hotel periods.

Physical and Safety Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the property for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, and push materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable responding to emergencies, including physical confrontations or assisting in evacuations, if necessary.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, such as during inclement weather or within tight spaces (e.g., stairwells or maintenance areas).
  • Ensure adherence to all safety procedures, including wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in security or law enforcement preferred, but not required; we are willing to train motivated individuals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Basic computer skills for monitoring security systems and writing reports.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • CPR and First Aid certification are a plus (or willing to obtain).

Hyatt Regency Indianapolis offers a supportive, team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth. As a Loss Prevention / Security Officer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a safe and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring our guests have an exceptional experience while enhancing your career in security services.
