Job description

Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. seeks Class C Drivers for the Warehouse Department. The Class C Driver's responsibilities include clean-up, driving, and materials distribution tasks as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares them to packing slips. Inspects items; uses dolly; with proper training, may operate forklift and other motorized equipment.
  • Determines the most efficient order of delivery; delivers materials and supplies to various work sites; maintains records of deliveries.
  • Takes vehicles for service and fueling; reports mechanical problems to supervisor.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and simple repairs, such as changing lamps and light bulbs, cleaning fixtures, and tightening loose screws, bolts, hinges, and other similar minor repairs; depending on the capability of the individual, may occasionally perform more skilled repair tasks, such as minor painting, assembling, moving furniture, or fixing motor-driven equipment.
  • Performs clean-up-related tasks to keep the facility neat, such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming; cleans restrooms, offices, and kitchen areas; picks up litter, recycles, and empties trash.
  • Keeps inventory of and orders related supplies; completes forms and logs, prepares requisitions, maintains accounts and records; picks up and delivers materials and supplies to work sites; and any other work as required. May work with cleaning solutions. Works outdoors in varied weather conditions.

NOTE:These duties listed are meant to describe the general scope of the work. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a combination of driving, janitorial, minor building maintenance, and public contact duties.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, and practices in basic building maintenance, including basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain necessary tools, small and motor-driven equipment, and machines; to complete routine administrative tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize work, and work in a busy environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels.

OTHER:

  • Valid driver's license with ability to meet the insurance requirements to drive on behalf of the organization
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, bending.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
