Job description

Summary: 

The Flower City Driver is responsible for delivering products to various locations within Greater Rochester. They are also responsible for staging and movement of materials between Flower City’s Mt. Read and Lee Rd locations.

Schedule

This position is for our B Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM (Midnight)

Candidates must be willing to train on our A Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

•    Training may last up to four weeks, depending on your learning pace and readiness to transition independently to the B Shift.

Requirements/Qualifications:

    Must possess a valid/clean CDL class B NYS driver’s license.

•    Ability to read and write English.

Essential Functions:

  • Required to walk and move materials when loading and offloading truck to designated locations in each facility.
  • Locate customer orders on production floor and move to shipping area for processing when required.
  • PolyBand and wrap customer orders as needed.
  • Make deliveries and pickups from all FCP vendors on a flexible schedule.
  • Make deliveries and pickups from all FCP Rochester locations on a flexible schedule.
  • Load and unload truck.
  • Scan & Document material movement between facilities
  • Pick up required materials and equipment for building maintenance.
  • Handle all related paperwork e.g., delivery tickets, pickup tickets.
  • Maintain truck records.
  • Fuel, wash and maintain company vehicle.
  • Assist shipping department when required.

Competencies:

  • Shipping and Receiving
  • Ability to consistently & safely drive.
  • Ability to  operate a pallet jack, power pallet jack, & forklift (when needed or required).
  • Ability to operate a GPS and two-way cellular phone.
  • Basic PC & Microsoft Application knowledge
  • Must be able to work under pressure with ever changing deadlines and priorities.

Preferred Education and Experience:

•    High School Diploma or equivalent

•    Fork truck experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

•    Regularly required to talk or hear.

•    Regularly required to sit, regular use of hands.

•    Frequently required to stand and walk distance on a daily basis. 

•    Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine. 

•    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
