Job description

Location: Overland Park, KS (Kansas City Metro)
Employment Type: Full-time, In-Office
Total Compensation (includes equity): $125K+

Steadily is hiring a Claims Team Lead who is the very best at what they do. You’ll be surrounded by team members who are the best at what they do, which will just make you even better. You’ll be responsible for guiding and assisting our team of Claims Adjusters and Associate Claims Adjusters – ensuring our team delivers a fast, easy, and effortless experience for our customers while maintaining technical excellence and compliance.

In this role, you will manage claims settlement authority requests, conduct file reviews, and serve as the primary operational liaison between Steadily and our insurance carrier partners. You are a player-coach who leads from the front: when volume spikes or a catastrophe hits, you will roll up your sleeves and directly adjust claims to support the team.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Overland Park, KS.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide guidance, development, and assistance to our Claims Adjusters and Associate Claims Adjusters, driving high quality, speed, and an excellent customer experience.

  • Assist with training and onboarding new hires, teaching them the Steadily way.

  • Manage claim authority grants, technical coverage reviews, high-dollar approvals, and complex file escalations

  • Serve as a key liaison between Steadily and our insurance carrier partners, managing relations, and ensuring compliance with carrier guidelines.

  • Maintain team quality by auditing claim files for documentation, regular diary entries, proper coverage application, and compliance with all statutory regulations.

  • Assist in establishing new workflows, optimizing existing processes, and building scalable operations for a rapidly growing team.

  • Roll up your sleeves and handle claims, write estimates, and manage customer files during period of high claim volume or CAT events in an all-hands-on-deck approach.

Your Background
  • Experience: You possess at least 2+ years of experience adjusting P&C Property Claims, with demonstrated experience leading, supervising, and guiding adjusters. You must hold an active insurance license. Property claims savants with homeowners, condo, and landlord insurance expertise preferred. Experience leading CAT response or training a plus.

  • Authority Management: Proven experience overseeing settlement authority for adjusters

  • Communication: You possess superior verbal and written communication skills. You can communicate concisely and diplomatically, maintaining a calm demeanor and professional tone with internal teams, carriers, and policyholders.

  • Insurance: Extensive knowledge of standard claims practices, Xactimate estimating, coverage application, subrogation, SIU, 3rd party claims, and 1st party litigation. AIC, ARM, or CPCU is a plus.

  • Self-Driven: You thrive under intense pressure and can manage a team's workload with minimal oversight. There is no task too small or beneath you; “that’s not my job” is not in your mantra.

  • Hungry: You want to make the leap into an earlier-stage tech company to rapidly accelerate your growth. You want to roll up your sleeves and hustle – you are not looking for a traditional 8-5 job.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Compensation: $125k including meaningful equity.

  • Equity: Stock options in a fast-growing company

  • Time Off: 3 weeks PTO + 6 federal holidays

  • Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA, FSA

  • Retirement: 401(k)

  • Perks: Free snacks, team lunches, collaborative office culture

Locations
  • Overland Park, Kansas (Kansas City Metro)

  • Steadily is building a workplace environment of team members who are passionate and excited to be together in person. Our office is in Overland Park and is key to our fast-paced growth trajectory.
