Job description

Packard Claims Administration is a fast paced and growing TPA handing Workers' Compensation claims looking for a Workers' Comp Lost Time Claims Examiner with 2+ years litigation experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Must have and maintain Florida Adjuster license (620 All Lines License)
  • Determine coverage, compensability and potential for subrogation recovery on assigned claims
  • Ability to investigate claims with little supervision ranging from simple to more complex
  • Communication timely with appropriate parties involved in claims per company policies
  • Responsible for setting, maintaining and adjusting reserves for the life of the claim
  • Work with in-house nursing team to develop and execute return to work strategies
  • Document and execute action plans to bring claims to final resolution
  • Negotiate claims for settlement within desk authority
  • Knowledge of Jurisdictional requirements to ensure timely denial and/or payment of benefits
  • Maintain continuing education requirements for assigned jurisdictions
  • Keep up to date on case laws for each assigned jurisdiction
  • Obtain extensive knowledge of assigned claims for preparation of possible depositions and/or mediations
  • Act in accordance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • 2+ or more years related claims experience required
  • Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled
  • Extensive knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices Computer experience with related claims and business software
