Responsibilities

Prime, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated, dedicated individual to join our Cargo Claims team.  Responsibilities of this position include processing cargo claim by performing the following duties:

  • Take OS&D calls and reports from drivers and customers.
  • Coordinate with customers to determine disposition of refused freight.
  • Make arrangements to track, secure, and redeliver rejected freight.
  • Investigate and review claims to determine carrier liability.
  • Maintain claim journals and reporting requirements.
  • Process claim payments and deliver charges.
  • Provide proof of delivery and donation receipts to customers upon request.
  • Assist the department with other general duties.
  • Ability to work weekends and take after hour calls required. 
  • Day shift: Tuesday - Saturday. On-site attendance is required. 
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Qualified candidates must be able to demonstrate strong customer service skills, both over the phone and in person.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Also need to be able to type 40wpm proficiently.

Work Environment:

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. On-site attendance is required.
