About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Insurance Adjuster to independently investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex commercial property, liability, and casualty claims taking personal ownership and accountability for the claims assigned to you from first notice of loss through final settlement.
This role suits a seasoned and highly skilled adjuster who thrives on complex, high-exposure commercial claims and wants to operate with a high degree of autonomy and authority.
Key Responsibilities
  • Independently manage a caseload of complex commercial claims, including but not limited to: property, general liability, professional liability, and business interruption losses

  • Interpret commercial policy language to determine coverage, exclusions, and applicable limits
  • Set accurate and timely reserves based on exposure analysis
  • Negotiate settlements directly with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters within assigned settlement authority
  • Prepare detailed, well-documented claim file notes, coverage position letters, and reserve justifications
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud indicators or subrogation opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements, statutory deadlines, and unfair claims practices statutes
Required Qualifications
  • Active adjuster license(s) in good standing (resident state required; multi-state/all-lines license strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 7+ years of commercial claims adjusting experience, with a demonstrated track record on complex, high-value losses
  • Deep working knowledge of commercial property (ISO/AAIS forms), CGL, and business owner's policies
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with experience handling claims involving legal counsel and public adjusters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal coverage correspondence
  • Proficiency with claims management systems (e.g., FileTrac or similar) and Xactimate/Symbility estimating software
  • Ability to travel for site inspections as needed
  • Clean E&O/bonding record required for named designation if applicable
