Job Summary

Responsible for facilities maintenance, which includes but isnโ€™t limited to, performing repair and maintenance of buildings, HVAC, painting, plumbing, landscaping and lawn care, snow removal and other building systems.

Summary of Essential Job Functions



  • Performs facilities maintenance
  • Performs rough and finish carpentry; installs and maintains ceiling and flooring materials; installs locks, closing devices and other door and window hardware; prepares forms for cement laying and assists in the finishing of cement projects.
  • Mows, trims, edges, fertilizes, and waters landscaped areas; prepares soil for planting; seeds and re-sods lawn areas; plants trees, seedlings and shrubs.
  • Performs painting of interior and exterior building surfaces; prepares surfaces for painting, protects surrounding surfaces and uses a variety a methods to apply paint or other covering materials such as brushes, rollers and spray equipment
  • Performs snow removal and salting of facilities and access ways.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of hand tools, power tools, and operates heavy equipment to complete responsibilities
  • Assists in the repair, maintenance and remodeling of plumbing equipment and facilities.
  • HVAC systems maintenance
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and timely
  • Perform basic repairs and upkeep to office and buildings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of facilities maintenance and repair, such as carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand tools, power tools, and operate heavy equipment
  • Time management
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a safe manner
  • Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals
  • A valid driver license is required

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm, however business needs may require additional hours worked
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call
  • This position primarily works is in a manufacturing and outdoor environment. Exposures include moving parts, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmospheric conditions, hot and cold temperatures, chemicals, high pressure steam and dust
  • This position is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • Frequently walks and stands for extended periods of time, ascends/descends stairs and ladders, works at heights
  • This position uses hand and power tools, and operates heavy equipment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • This position does not supervise the work of others
  • Travel is not expected for this position

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Previous work experience in general facilities maintenance or similar is preferred
  • A valid driver license is required
