Job description

Transportation Civil Project Engineer – (192433)

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Transportation Civil Project Engineer ready to make a lasting impact across Hawaii. In this role, you’ll play a key technical role on projects ranging from highways and roadways to waterfronts and aviation infrastructure.

What You’ll Do
  • Design roadway alignments, profiles, utilities, and drainage systems
  • Develop detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Perform advanced engineering calculations and craft clear technical reports
  • Support construction with on‑site inspections, RFI responses, and submittal reviews
  • Lead small to mid‑size tasks independently as a technical expert
  • Help grow client relationships in Hawaii and across the Pacific Region
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Hawaii PE License strongly preferred or ability to obtain prior to hire
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Programs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
  • Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
  • Hands‑on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D
  • MS Office knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience includes urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
