Job description

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Staff to join our growing team in Issaquah, WA. This role is ideal for early-career professionals who are eager to expand their technical skills while working on a wide variety of public and private projects. You will collaborate with licensed engineers, project managers, and specialists in land surveying, structural engineering, environmental engineering, and natural resources, contributing to the design and delivery of infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact in the community. 

Your Responsibilities as an Engineer 1 - Staff Engineer:

  • Receive direction on engineering tasks and maintain active communication with project managers. 
  • Effectively manage multiple assignments and prioritize work with input from project managers and professional engineers. 
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic team environment involving multiple engineering disciplines and project types. 
  • Preparation of construction documents for both public and private infrastructure projects. 
  • Prepare written technical reports to document roadway and stormwater design decisions in accordance with local, state and national standards. 
  • Prepare accurate stormwater models to evaluate stormwater conveyance, treatment, and detention requirements. 
  • Prepare utility designs for stormwater, municipal water and sanitary sewer systems 
  • Deliver engineering design projects using Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation and OpenRoads software.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering 
  • Experience working in a Civil Engineering related field 
  • Aptitude to be able to perform civil engineering design tasks associated with municipal public works projects and/or private development projects 
  • Flexibility and creativity in project approaches and openness to learn and develop your career 
  • Knowledge of stormwater analysis strategies and techniques 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 
  • Represent yourself and the company in a professional manner 

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Proficient skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads highly desired. 
  • Obtained Engineer in Training (EIT) license or ability to obtain within one year 
  • Familiarity with WWHM and HydroCAD stormwater modeling software 
  • Relevant internship or previous professional experience.
