Description
The City of Columbia Heights is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to work from June 15, 2026 through August or September 2026.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Occasional overtime is required.
Examples of Duties
Conduct field investigations and site inspections. Support project documentation, including quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and reports. Assist in reviewing construction plans and specifications for accuracy and compliance. Attend project meetings and take notes or prepare meeting summaries. Perform other duties as assigned in support of engineering staff.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of post high school coursework.
  • Interest in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Completion of engineering or surveying courses.
  • Experience using MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD and ArcMap.
