WHB Engineers is a well-established and growing Civil Engineering and Construction Management firm with offices in San Diego, San Mateo, Dublin, Pleasant Hill, and Chico, California. Our firm provides a full array of engineering, public works design, construction, and project management services.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Civil Engineer with five or more years of experience. The ideal candidate is a dependable, well-organized, and versatile individual who has experience in civil engineering design and strong project management skills. They are organized, have solid communication skills, can work independently with minimal supervision, are team-oriented, personable, and possess a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. Candidates must possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering. This is an onsite position based in our San Diego office.
Responsibilities:
  • Design civil and water/wastewater projects for municipal clients
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and fee estimates
  • Develop work plans and schedules
  • Assist in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clients
  • Perform studies, calculations, designs, and preparation of plans and reports in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering required
  • Minimum of five years of practical work experience
  • Experience with civil engineering as the engineer of record or principal in charge on projects submitted to public agencies
  • Write, review, and critique proposals, plans, designs, or fee estimates related to civil disciplines
  • Provide technical direction or supervision to engineering professionals, engineering, or computer-aided design (CAD) technicians, or other professional and technical personnel
  • Assist in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clients
  • Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients
  • Solid experience with the MS Office Suite

We offer a generous salary and benefits package that includes company paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, vacation, and a competitive 401(k) program.
