Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in leading and managing complex civil engineering projects. They will also have a deep understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, as well as proficiency in a variety of civil engineering design software.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of ten years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Proficient in the design of commercial/industrial facilities and able to manage all aspects of design (geometry, utilities, grading, and drainage)
  • Proficient in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydrology Studio (or similar software), and HEC-RAS.
  • Proficient in managing projects through the permitting process
  • Project experience on a variety of projects from simple to complex and small to large
  • Ability to respond to job site conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Must be willing to wear hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, and work boots on job sites.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, project team members, governing agency personnel, sub-contractors, other consultants, and company field personnel.

Qualifications
What we expect...
  • Confer with customers, contractors, reviewing agencies, engineering personnel, and architects on projects.
  • Compile and analyze data relating to a site's geographic location, topography, highway and rail access, available utilities, soil types, subsurface conditions, environmental status, drainage, local zoning and development regulations, restrictions and covenants, and other requirements that could affect the cost, constructability, and scheduling of a project.
  • Prepare site improvement plans, specifications, drainage reports, and cost estimates for land development, showing existing and proposed contours, locations of structures, roads, walks, parking areas, fences, walls, and utilities, and ensure compliance with Customer RFP and coordination with Project Manager concerning scope of work, quantities, and scheduling.
  • Inspect construction work in progress to support Field Personnel, to ensure compliance with the approved contract documents, to approve quality of materials and work, and to discuss and consider alternates to the approved design that could better fit existing conditions.
  • Review shop drawings submitted by subcontractors, ensures NPDES requirements are satisfied, submits Field Reports to Design Manager, and provides guidance to the Project Team concerning performance, alternatives, and contracts.

The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $130,000 to $170,000.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has indirect supervisory responsibilities of drafters and of administrative assistants for work generated by this individual.
