We're hiring a full-time Civil Engineer to join our civil site design and public works teams at our Metairie headquarters. It's a hands-on seat at a growing, multi-disciplinary firm where your work ships.

Basin Engineering & Surveying is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm headquartered in Metairie, Louisiana. The firm delivers civil site design, structural engineering, land surveying, public works, and drone services, performing engineering work nationwide and surveying regionally across the southeast. What you'll do

  • Prepare civil site design plans, including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway layouts
  • Support public works and site development projects from concept through construction
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare technical reports and specifications
  • Develop construction documents and drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Coordinate with surveyors, structural engineers, clients, and permitting agencies
  • Conduct site visits and support construction-phase services as needed
  • Help ensure designs meet applicable codes, regulations, and quality standards

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • EIT or Engineer-in-Training certification, or progress toward your PE
  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D and standard engineering software
  • Strong knowledge of civil design principles, grading, drainage, and utilities
  • Clear written and verbal communication and solid attention to detail
  • Ability to work on-site at our Metairie, LA office

Nice to have: experience with land surveying coordination, public works projects, or drone and GIS mapping.

Compensation & benefits

Salary range: $70,000$90,000 per year, plus medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
