Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Civil Engineer to support a variety of wastewater conveyance projects in Minnesota and the upper Midwest. You will be client facing and lead and support projects related to wastewater conveyance including lift stations, forcemains, gravity sewers, metering stations, and other related infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to engage in work that spans local, regional, and national geographies. You'll also collaborate with Stantec's industry-leading Water professionals-part of a team of over 4,000 Water staff across North America.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Identify appropriate resources to achieve project objectives.
    • Project management tasks such as managing contract terms, tracking and managing costs and schedule, and implementing measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Project Delivery
    • Technical delivery of work including writing memos, reports, plans/specifications, permit applications, client presentations, and other engineering documents.
    • Participate in various phases of wastewater conveyance infrastructure projects including planning, design development, permitting, and execution.
    • Work with other Project and Client managers to understand project needs and implement project plans.
  • Business Development
    • Lead efforts for proposal preparation and business development.
    • Participate in client business development and planning conversations.
  • Administrative
    • Opportunities to serve as a direct supervisor to junior staff, if desired.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proven technical skills applicable to wastewater conveyance system modeling, flow meter data collection, and sewer system master planning.
  • Experience with field work, inspections, and construction related to wastewater flow monitoring and wastewater conveyance infrastructure.
  • Experience with client management and business development.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Experience with writing technical reports and presenting findings to clients in person or in virtual formats.
  • Ability to travel as required for project and client meetings.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or ability to achieve within one year of hire.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
