Seeking an experienced Wet Utility Engineer for a new LRT Project. The role focuses on water, storm, and sanitary infrastructure, including water main relocation and sizing, drainage systems, and integration with roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction activities. Work is delivered within publicsector and regulated municipal environments, requiring coordination with transportation, dry utilities, and other infrastructure disciplines.


  • Engineer in charge of developing sanitary, storm, and watermain relocation designs, as well as combined sewer decommissioning.
  • Design and manage hydraulic inputs, preparation of approval packages, and coordination of with other design disciplines.
  • Lead and manage the civil / utilities components of major projects from inception to completion (this could include but, is not limited to, water main relocation and sizing, storm and sanitary design, as well as supporting other dry utilities and transportation activities such as road rehabilitation/reconstruction and drainage improvements).
  • Provide mentorship and resolve conflicts to maintain efficiency and collaboration.
  • Advancing projects from concept to construction, ensuring compliance with standards and client needs.
  • Prepare technical designs, specifications, reports, and proposals.

  • Bachlor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
  • P. Eng License required
  • 4-8+ years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work at the Project Office in Hamilton, ON - Hybrid: 3 days /week
  • Direct experience with GTA public and private utility companies is an asset.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (MicroStation, Inroads/Open Roads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D) related to sewers and watermain.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with sewer and watermain design calculation and modelling tools such as Infoworks, EPANET, Infoworks etc.
  • Knowledge of permits, licenses and approval procedures for utilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in transportation infrastructure design and delivery.
  • Experience leading and managing teams of professionals.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.Average Salary
  • Range for this role is between CAD 110,000 - 140,000 pa
