Burgess & Niple is looking for a Civil Engineer - Project Manager to join our team in Norfolk or Richmond, VA. This position is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our local team and utilize their technical and leadership expertise to lead and complete interesting and challenging projects.
B&N Civil Engineer- Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Create and develop scopes of work and budgets for civil projects
  • Serve as a client manager and/or project manager for selected clients and projects
  • Monitor performance indicators, budgets, schedules, and manage risk for projects
  • Coordinate the planning and design of challenging civil engineering projects
  • Provide training and mentoring for the engineering team
  • Participate and/or lead the preparation of permitting and construction documentation preparation for projects
  • Represent B&N in meetings and at marketing functions.
  • Participate in strategic business planning, development of client relationship programs, and assessment of new business opportunities
  • Complete stormwater and engineering calculations
  • Participate in construction administration by reviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and performing site visits

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program with a P.E. registration in Virginia
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Project Management role
  • General knowledge of relevant engineering software, modeling, and Civil3D technology
  • Federal experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, quality control, and organization skills are essential to the success of this role
