We are seeking a full-time Engineer-in-Training IV based in our Murfreesboro, TN office. This position will collaborate in-house with licensed civil engineers, landscape architects, and land surveyors to assist our clients in developing commercial and residential projects in the public and private sectors. This position is involved in the practical application of engineering principles to design infrastructure for site or commercial and residential land development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist a Project Manager in the production of project plans, specifications and cost estimates

  • Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and cost

  • Identify and analyze the principle design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and need

  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents

  • Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies using approved company format

  • Direct production work oftechnicians

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil or agricultural engineering from anABET accreditedcollege or university

  • 3-4 years' experience in civil design - site, commercial and/or residential design

  • Tennessee EI/EIT or ability to achieve by reciprocity

  • Experience with middle Tennessee jurisdiction entitlement and zoning along with permitting processes and procedures

  • Previous preparation of TDEC NOI permit applications and SWPPPs

  • Working knowledge of AutoCADCivil3Dand MSOffice Suite

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written

  • Must be reliable and dependable

  • Additional related duties as needed
