Job description

Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous robotaxi fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this revolutionary technology to market. At the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, Zoox aims to provide the next generation of mobility-as-a-service in urban environments. As a Manager, City Operations, you will be pivotal in bringing our autonomous vehicle service to life in our new markets. This position focuses on managing the day-to-day operations of our L3 test vehicles and robotaxi fleet, ensuring exceptional mission success and service delivery while maintaining the highest safety standards.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead, develop, and manage teams of Zoox and contingent workforce personnel responsible for Zoox’s test fleet and robotaxi service fleet.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize fleet performance by mastering operational workflows and performance metrics to eliminate waste and create value
  • Oversee daily fleet operations, including vehicle deployments, maintenance tracking, and service coverage.
  • Drive operational excellence by being customer-focused and partnering with product and key stakeholders to create the ultimate rider experience for our customers and business partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of technology updates and service enhancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for service reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve site operations in terms of quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Deliver effective change leadership while regularly communicating performance trends and improvements to the organization
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 8+ years leading the business side of relevant large-scale operations
  • 3+ years of managing large teams of FTEs and contingent labor
  • Management of continuous safety standards and improvement initiatives
  • Experience in change management processes & managing large amounts of data
  • Ability to work on-site at your market’s facilities
  • Ability to travel when necessary
Bonus Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Program Management, etc.)
  • 5+ years working in an NPI environment and cross-functionally with PMO or engineering organizations
  • Working with cross-functional teams on go-to-market initiatives
  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle, transportation dispatch, and emergency response industries
  • PMP certification, or equivalent.
Base Salary Range
 
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
