Job Description Downtown is calling. Be a part of the Moore Square team as we continue to activate our newly renovated downtown oasis. Moore Square Park Assistants are responsible for daily operations of Moore Square and the Moore Square Visitor Center.

This position will be responsible for daily opening and closing procedures, interacting with park guests, program registration, preparation of daily programs and program facilitation such as arts and crafts or giant games, cash register operation, balancing daily revenues, trash pickup, cleaning restroom facilities, and event operations. Candidates must be able to retain information about site amenities, fees, along with upcoming programs and events to meet the needs of park patrons. They will also perform general duties as required.

This position involves physical movement, working in an outdoor setting in all types of weather, and cleaning restroom facilities. The ideal candidate for this position will be upbeat and energetic with a passion for parks and people. The candidate must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and the public, including rule enforcement.

This role requires a significant amount of time in a guest-facing environment. Duties and Responsibilities Enforce the rules and guidelines of Moore Square. Provide outstanding customer service when assisting the public through various communication methods.

Maintain and clean the facility, park, and equipment as needed. Daily program and park set-up including tables, chairs, umbrellas, canopies, art/game cart, rental equipment and others as needed. Attend all required city training.

Training will be provided on any specialized equipment. Daily operational support for visitor center, park kiosk, park activities and programs & inventory management Host programs requiring engagement of both small and large groups with or without the use of a sound system. Maintain park cleanliness throughout the day.

Typical Qualifications Education & Experience: A high School diploma is required. Preferred Requirements: Ability to speak, write, etc. in English fluently.

Reliable transportation is required. Work shifts fall within varying seasonal hours throughout the year which requires applicants to work flexible hours. Moore Square is open 7 days a week, including most Holidays.

Applicants must be proficient in computer operations and basic programs such as the Microsoft Office. Nights, weekends and holidays are required with this position. License and Certifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain it within 60 days.

Applicants for this position should be well-rounded, organized, self-starters. Must be enthusiastic about working with all populations, display personal maturity, have great communication and customer service skills, and have confidence in dealing with conflict resolution. Additional Information Moore Square reopened to the public in June 2019 and is activated by a variety of programs, activities and special events.

The park features a large event lawn, onsite cafe and a natural play area with an interactive water feature.
