Job description

About us:
PurposeMed is a Canadian-founded healthtech company established in 2019 with a mission to improve access to complex care for underserved communities. We've combined our clinical roots with a drive to scale, and now our exceptional team provides specialized care to thousands of patients every month.
PurposeMed consists of three complex care business units: Freddie, Frida, and Foria, and partners with Affirming Care Pharmacy.
  • Freddie improves sexual health through education, prevention, and treatment with a focus on the LGBTQ2S+ community. As the #1 rated PrEP provider in North America, we're proudly dismantling barriers to sexual healthcare for patients across both Canada and the USA.
  • Frida transforms the lives of patients through easier access to adult ADHD diagnosis and fast, affordable treatment.
  • Foria provides trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse Canadians with specialized, gender-affirming healthcare.
  • Affirming Care Pharmacy provides discreet, specialty prescription delivery across North America. Operating from Calgary, Mississauga, Toronto, and San Antonio, they provide our patients with an integrated, end-to-end healthcare experience.

We are proud to be ranked #2 on Deloitte's 2024 list of Canada's 50 fastest-growing tech companies and recognized as one of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures for two consecutive years. Driven by a strong mission, our team is passionate about making healthcare accessible to those who need it most-and we make sure to have fun along the way!
Permanent, full-time opportunity
Location - Remote (USA)
Travel Requirements: This position requires frequent travel (1-2 times per month) for partner visits across Canada and the USA.
Though we have an office based in Calgary, this is a remote position that is open to candidates across the USA. PurposeMed's office is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the peoples of the Treaty 7 region which includes the nations of the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda which consists of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stoney Bands, and people of the Tsuut'ina First Nation. The city of Calgary is also homeland to the historic Northwest Métis and to the Otipemisiwak Métis government, Métis Nation Battle River Territory, Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6.
Who we hope to find:
We're looking for a Director of Partner Success to own the health of Freddie's most vital relationships. This role will own both our Covered Entity partnerships across the US and our expanding Canadian partner relationships end-to-end.
You'll have the rare opportunity to build a cross geography account management function from the ground up-designing the playbooks, automation, and documentation that define excellence for our partners. This role will run quarterly business reviews, negotiate renewals, consultatively introduce new services that deepen the partnerships, and utilize data-driven insights and mission alignment to deliver compelling pitches that expand our footprint.By working cross-functionally with our data, finance, customer support and product teams, this role will ensure the partner perspective directly shapes our roadmap while overseeing the day-to-day operations that keep our mission moving forward.
With a Partnerships Success Manager reporting to you to handle invoicing, data QA, and report preparation and a Senior Manager of Community to support on partner engagement, your job is to lead the relationships, design the systems, and drive the cross-functional work that makes our partners successful. Working alongside our Co-Founders, this Director-level position offers significant organizational influence and the latitude to make defining strategic choices for the business.
If you thrive on building deep relationships with mission-driven leaders, love building repeatable processes where none exist, and are energized by work that directly expands access to HIV prevention and treatment-this is your role.
In this role, you'll make an impact by:
Cultivating Strategic Partner Relationships (50%)
  • Owning all covered entity partner relationships end-to-end, from onboarding through renewal and expansion
  • Defining what an 11/10 experience looks like for our partners, which includes everything from running structured MBRs/QBRs to building partnership roadmaps
  • Identifying and closing expansion opportunities through consultative, partnership-oriented selling
  • Serving as the voice of the partner internally by translating their needs to product, clinical, and operations teams

Driving Consultative Growth (30%)
  • Strategically growing our relationship with existing CE partners by helping them access new services through Freddie that benefit patient care and our respective missions
  • Developing and delivering compelling pitches grounded in data, outcomes, and mission alignment
  • Representing Freddie at industry events and conferences to build upon Freddie's reputation in the 340B and community health ecosystem.

Optimizing Operational Excellence (20%)
  • Oversee the Partnerships Success Manager who collaborates with other teams to ensure partners are invoiced and data reports are created and QA'd. Accountable for accuracy and partner trust; not expected to do the manual work.
  • Ensure all operational processes are documented, reliable, and improving over time. The goal: if any person in this function left tomorrow, someone else could pick up.
We need someone who has:
  • 7+ years in partnership management, strategic account management, or client leadership-with a track record of independently managing 10+ high-value relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with mission-driven organizations (non-profits, community health, government-funded entities, or similar)
  • U.S. healthcare industry experience
  • Strong business development instinct-you spot growth opportunities and position them as value-add, not upsell
  • Executive-level communication skills-you hold your own with clinic CEOs, CMOs, and board members without needing coaching or hand-holding.
  • Strong cross-functional instinct-you naturally work across data, finance, product, and support teams to unblock issues and build better systems, not just escalate problems
  • Commercial instinct-you see opportunities to deepen partnerships, frame them as value-add, and close them through trust, not pressure
  • The ability to manage one direct report and develop their capabilities over time
  • Data-driven storytelling-you can turn utilization data and outcomes into a narrative that resonates with a clinic director
  • Experience working with non-profit, community-based, or government-funded organizations
  • Proven ability to navigate and influence collaborating teams such as product, clinical, and data to ensure the partner's voice translates into high-impact realities
It would also be great if you have:
  • Knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, contract pharmacy, or HRSA compliance
  • Experience in LGBTQ+ health, HIV/AIDS services, or health equity
Compensation:
  • $140,000 - $180,000 USD a year
  • Earn stock options through our Equity Incentive Plan-connect your efforts to PurposeMed's growth as we work together to improve the lives of our patients across North America.
  • The compensation listed above refers to a yearly base salary that may vary depending on a candidate's relevant qualifications, knowledge, competencies and work experience, and other factors including market conditions. Base pay is just one aspect of our total rewards at PurposeMed-see our other exciting benefits below! (Please note that the benefits listed are specific to Canadian, full-time team members and may be adjusted based on your location or employment type).

Do you think you could be our next Director of Partner Success? We look forward to seeing your application!
#LI-Remote
Why you should join us:
  • Be part of a team of great people who don't take themselves too seriously. While we're serious about the problems we solve, we believe in having fun along the way.
  • Make an impact, every single day. We're providing compassionate, affirming care to many people who have never received the proper support before.
  • Be confident in bringing your whole self to work. Inclusivity is core to how we take care of our patients, our teammates, and ourselves. We create spaces that are safe and affirming.
What we're offering (based on full-time, permanent roles in Canada & the USA):
Along with the benefits below, we offer additional programs and supports designed to help you feel your best-both at work and outside of it.
  • Work flexibly within a team that's remote friendly; we believe that work should fit around your life*
  • 20 vacation days and a team that will remind you to use them!
  • Annual winter break closure
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision care from your first day of work-we cover 100% of your premiums, with coverage available for dependents
  • 8 health/sick days
  • Extended mental health coverage
  • $20,000 of lifetime coverage for gender-affirming care and procedures (Canada)
  • $500 learning fund to use towards courses and other professional development
  • Our unique People Potential program, in which you'll partner with your manager to identify opportunities to grow and achieve your full potential

If you are looking for a place that sparks your creativity, helps others, and will push you to be your best, then you'll love PurposeMed.
PurposeMed is committed to being an equal-opportunity employer, and we highly encourage those from excluded and marginalized communities to apply. This includes groups such as (but not limited to): Indigenous, Black, and racialized communities, trans and non-binary, LGBTQ2S+, disabled, and HIV-positive people. You don't have to check every single box above. If the job description gets you excited and you think you could contribute your expertise to our team-we hope you'll apply!
*Most of our roles are performed virtually from home across Canada and the USA. Team members working onsite at Affirming Care pharmacies do need to be physically present.
