What You'll Do

As a Utilities Technician, you'll help maintain and operate the district's water distribution and wastewater collection systems while ensuring reliable service for the community.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair water and sewer lines, mains, and related equipment
  • Assist with maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, motors, machinery, and utility equipment
  • Read residential and commercial water meters and record usage accurately
  • Operate light equipment including tractors, mowers, augers, and other maintenance tools
  • Perform general labor including digging, backfilling, loading, unloading, and site cleanup
  • Assist with repairs to water and wastewater treatment, storage, and distribution equipment
  • Perform routine building, grounds, and janitorial maintenance
  • Help inspect, maintain, and repair district vehicles and equipment
  • Respond professionally to customer service requests and resident concerns
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to obtain a Texas Class C Water Operator and Wastewater Operator License
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, is preferred
  • Ability to liftย 40+ pounds
  • Must pass a drug screening and annual physical examination
