Job description

IT Project Manager to manage and deliver several infrastructure projects for a client in the insurance industry. The company is in the suburbs north of Chicago, IL and the position is a 6+ month contract engagement focused on delivery governance, stakeholder and team management, and overall project execution. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, risk management, budget oversight, and ensuring any relevant vendors meet contractual obligations and delivery expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple infrastructure initiatives, including:
  • - Migrating from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktops
  • - Migrating NetApp Filer to Azure files
  • - Replacing Data center switches and firewalls in client's colocation
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Serve as liaison between internal teams and third-party vendors
  • Hold vendors accountable to SLAs and milestones
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Provide regular project status and executive updates
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of IT Project Management experience
  • Strong IT team management track record is critical
  • Solid vendor management and project governance background
  • Experience managing and delivering infrastructure initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
